Becky graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Human Development from UC Davis in 2003 and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from National University in 2005. She was licensed as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in 2008 and as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in 2014. Becky has been in private practice since 2009. Prior to private practice Becky worked at a local counseling agency for four years. Becky’s treatment focus is on the treatment of eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting skills, couples’ issues, and all aspets of supporting the development and maintenance of a healthy self-esteem.
Becky is a co-founder of Body Revolution, Inc. a non-profit in Redding, California focused on promoting positive body images and supporting services for clients with disordered eating and their families. Becky has been working with clients who suffer from eating disorders and disordered thinking and behaviors since 2008. She trained under Eating Disorder Specialist, Dr. DaLene Forester-Thacker for three years. Becky has also co-facilitated groups on eating disorders and gives presentations to local college students about eating disorders.
Becky’s passion for treating eating disorders and a focus on positive self-worth derived from her own personal struggles, and of those around her, with low self-esteem and the diet mentality. Becky has a great interest in Dr. Brene Brown’s work focused around vulnerability, courage, worthiness, and shame. Becky is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) by Dr. DaLene Forester through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA). In addition, Becky is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) by UC Davis and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) by UC Davis. Becky is also trained in Triple P Parenting Level Three and Four.
Becky lives in Redding with her wonderful family including her husband, son, dog, and new baby girl. Spending time with her immediate and extended family is of utmost importance to Becky. She also enjoys spending time with her friends, being outdoors, camping, going to the ocean or lake, cooking, crafting, and organizing. Give Becky the option to organize something and she will happily be busy for hours. Becky enjoys being in the company of others and rejuvenates in her solitude.
